The FAA has initiated the move to return 20 hours of instrument training to Advanced Aviation Training Devices. The proposed new rule on adding the hours back should be in place in the next six to twelve months. The FAA and Congress are working on rules related to drones and that has slowed the rule change from taking place but we have been assured that the 20 hours will return. Training in a simulator for the instrument rating speeds up the training time and puts the students ahead of training in an aircraft. Our simulators are multi purpose and can be physically set up for many different aircrafts. We are able to properly train instrument students much quicker in the sim, in fact we can put them in the aircraft quicker and they can adapt and shorten the learning curve for the instrument rating.
